Newleaf añade 59 nuevas cartas de criatura y estructura al mazo principal y amplia en gran medida las opciones estratégicas y las posibles combinaciones. Utilizando las nuevas fichas de «ocupado» doradas, estas cartas se pueden combinar con las cartas del juego base para crear nuevas y apasionantes sinergias. Las cartas de visitante añaden una nueva manera de obtener puntos al final de la partida y los billetes y fichas de reserva hacen que el momento de tomar decisiones sea más crítico que nunca.
